Since 2SSB 5195 went into effect January 1, 2022, WSHA has supported hospitals in implementing processes to comply with the law and ensure patients at-risk of opioid-related harm are offered take home naloxone kits at discharge. Overdose deaths are preventable and one powerful way hospitals can prevent overdose is to ensure their naloxone distribution programs
