You may have noticed a subtle change on our website and other materials. To reflect the growing complexity of WSHA’s support and leadership in the clinical arena, our Safety and Quality department is now the Clinical Excellence team.
The repositioning recognizes that while safety, quality and clinical excellence are interconnected and crucial aspects of health care, Clinical Excellence better captures the scope and cooperative nature of WSHA’s clinical work. Washington hospitals have long chosen collaboration over competition when it comes to health care quality, which consistently yields better results for our communities.
WSHA’s Clinical Excellence team is comprised of clinical and content experts who work in concert with hospitals as well as state and community agencies to pursue innovative, effective and outstanding health outcomes. This approach requires ongoing and open exchanges with clinicians across the state.
A leadership community steeped in safety culture and resilience — and always with the patient front of mind — elevates clinicians’ ability to provide excellent care. Our new name reflects our renewed commitment to excellence, and we look forward to supporting hospitals as they provide safe, high-quality, accessible, culturally competent and equitable care for all Washingtonians.
Sincerely,
Darcy Jaffe
