WSHA is offering a new free training program for rural nurse managers, charge nurses and clinical nurse educators. This training will focus on providing nurse leaders with the skills to be effective managers, support their teams and improve patient care.
The curriculum will be tailored based on pre-assessments, and is expected to cover staff retention and engagement, effective communication and coaching, leading for high-quality care and health equity, delegation skills and the role of nurses in a changing care environment.
Hospital leaders will nominate nurses and are expected to support their participation. Nurses accepted in the program will join 6-8 virtual hourlong training sessions over the course of 2-3 months in spring of 2025.
Training will be led by Ruth Hansten, RN, MBA, PhD, whose care delivery model – Relationship and Results Oriented Healthcare® (RROHC) – improves patient outcomes, clinical indicators, employee engagement, provider satisfaction and health care employee retention.
On Aug. 6, WSHA will host an informational webinar to share details about this program and answer questions. Registration will open Sept. 3. (Megan Herman)
