WSHA announces behavioral health webinar series for hospitals

December 3, 2020

WSHA will begin a webinar series covering a broad range of behavioral health-related topics to support hospitals. The series, which will run throughout 2021, is open to all hospitals and care settings (e.g., emergency, inpatient, outpatient) and intended for broad audiences (e.g., providers, nursing staff, infection prevention, administrative, safety and quality). Webinars will cover a range of topic areas, including psychological safety, crisis management skills, motivational interviewing, substance use disorders, suicide and trauma-informed care. Flexibility is built into program content to respond to emerging trends and needs. Please reach out to Brooke Evans at brookee@wsha.org with topic ideas or suggestions. Each learning topic will include skills and practical interventions, as well as resources to support further growth and development.

Please join us for the first webinar, Overdose Prevention Strategies for Hospitals During COVID-19, taking place from 12–1 p.m. Dec. 15. Sponsored by WSHA and the University of Washington’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute (ADAI), this webinar will provide data from the Washington State Department of Health on overdose trends and will discuss hospital-based approaches for responding to and preventing overdoses as well as strategies for engaging families and resources to support patients with substance use disorders. For more information and registration, please see the WSHA webpage.
