WhidbeyHealth honors its employees during what it recognizes as “Healthcare Week” (the combination of National Hospital Week and National Nurses Week) by offering its entire staff of about 800 a free meal during one shift and free late afternoon snacks served by department managers every day at the hospital café.
A slideshow on the media board honors those who have received awards and certifications in the past year, and organizers take a team photo for all who wish to participate.
Each day during the week, an organization-wide email is sent with various factoids about the departments, such as that 237 gallons of Purell Foaming Hand Sanitizer was purchased in 2017.
