The Washington State Hospital Association and the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems created the Northwest Safety and Quality Partnership, which brings care quality and safety initiatives together from both associations to serve all 169 hospitals and health systems in the two states.
The partnership’s work will target 21 initiatives, such as reducing hospital readmissions, reducing sepsis and surgical site infections and fostering appropriate antibiotic use.
It also will offer educational resources to hospitals and health systems in both states and facilitate collaboration to spread best practices for patients.
Together, Washington and Oregon hospitals have over 900,000 inpatient hospital stays and nearly 26 million outpatient visits annually.
