Last fall WSHA and the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems created the Northwest Safety and Quality Partnership, a regional safety and quality program that provides a single set of services for hospitals in Washington and Oregon. The work of the partnership over this period has included:
- Creating a shared governance model through a Safety and Quality Committee made up of hospital leadership from both states.
- Onboarding 40 (and counting) Oregon hospitals and health systems to the program through an introductory site visit and tailored engagement in quality initiatives.
- Hosting two CNO and Quality Leader educational collaboratives in Portland.
- Engaging leadership from both states in quality education through the CEO and Trustee Safety and Quality Summit and the Executive Safety Academy.
As this program moves into its second year, expect to see more opportunities for two-state collaboration through education, data benchmarking and joint initiatives.
