Following in a tradition for the hospital, employees of Summit Pacific Medical Center are supporting local students in furthering their education in health care. Since 1993, Summit Pacific staff have awarded nearly $70,000 to 87 students through the Employee Scholarship Fund. This year, six high school seniors have received scholarships through the fund. The 2019 recipients will use the scholarships to obtain education in ultrasound technology, nursing, physical therapy, paramedicine and dental hygiene.
“This year we had enough to give scholarships to every applicant! That’s thanks to the dedication of Summit Pacific employees and their donations,” Diagnostic Imaging Manager and Scholarship Committee Chair Joy Iversen said.
The scholarship fund is overseen by the Summit Pacific Medical Foundation. Additional information about the donation program is available online.
