WSHA has completed the pilot phase of its Patient Safety Alert (PSA) huddles and is opening them up to all hospitals in the state. This extraordinary program is focused on sharing harm events and near misses across participating hospitals and clinics. The goal to improve safety and share best practices.
WSHA originally launched PSA huddles with 20 hospitals in February 2017 and has since expanded participation to 35 organizations. There have been 111 events reported from the program’s launch through September 2018, providing the unique opportunity for participating organizations to learn from cases of harm, near misses and good catches.
Huddles provide the opportunity to connect to other organizations in the region and share learnings to improve quality and safety. Participating organizations also receive weekly summaries to spread the knowledge, collaborate and be part of the culture that embraces the sharing of safety events.
Please contact Melina Ovchiyan or Cat Mazzawy if you are interested in participating in the PSA Huddles!
