The Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission (PQAC) is conducting rulemaking on prescription label accessibility and has released a survey for licensees to inform its work. Please ensure that your hospital’s pharmacy leaders respond to the survey by at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16. Click here to access the survey.
The survey’s purpose “is to assess current pharmacy practices pertaining to accessible labeling for both patients with visual and/or print disabilities and patients who require that prescription information be translated into another language besides English.” According to the PQAC’s survey announcement, the survey will help PQAC identify “what technological, financial or resource-based obstacles prevent such options from being offered.” (David Streeter)
