As of Nov. 1, Washington’s Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission (PQAC) will have a new Executive Director – Lauren Lyles, serving in the role that was previously vacated by Steve Saxe’s retirement. Lauren brings an extensive background in pharmacy. Lauren graduated with her Pharm.D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, then completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Eli Lilly and Company in U.S. and International Regulatory Policy and Strategy. She also worked part-time as a pharmacist at a mail-order pharmacy and following that, served as the Manager of Pharmacy Affairs at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. WSHA looks forward to working with Lauren and the Commission to ensuring patients are able to access the care and medications that they need on a timely basis and pharmacy regulations acknowledge the complex care environments of hospitals across our state.
