No license, no ultrasound: Washington’s new law takes effect

Effective June 6, 2024, Washington state law requires that only licensed health care providers, or someone under a provider’s supervision, may perform ultrasounds or a similar medical imaging on patients (RCW 18.130.470). A violation of this law constitutes practice without a license. Providers and health care facilities should review policies and procedures to ensure compliance. (Zosia Stanley)
