Last week, WSHA members and staff celebrated some amazing achievements in health care at Seattle Business Magazine’s “Leaders in Health Care 2016” award banquet.
Rich Umbdenstock, former president and CEO of the American Hospital Association (AHA), received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his years of service in health care. Rich raised his family in Spokane before taking on the challenge of running the AHA. At the dinner, he spoke of his great pride in helping secure the Affordable Care Act, which brought health coverage to millions.
We also heard about the amazing work done by many of our state’s great health care institutions, and WSHA members made a great showing:
- CHI Franciscan
- Lincoln Hospital, Davenport
- Providence Health and Services, Richland and Everett
- Swedish Medical Center
- University of Washington
- Virginia Mason Medical Center
See all the winners here. This was a great chance to celebrate our state’s successes and hear each other’s truly amazing stories of preserving access and improving quality. Congratulations to all the winners! (Mary Kay Clunies-Ross)
