33rd Annual Joe Hopkins Memorial Award
Joe Hopkins was a long-time leader in the Washington State health care arena, serving as WSHA board chair and AWPHD president. At the time of his death in February 1987, he was a member of the AHA Regional Advisory Board and the AHA House of Delegates. WSHA established the Joe Hopkins Memorial Award in 1987, and the 33rd Annual Joe Hopkins Memorial Award will be given to an individual who displays the spirit of Joe’s vision and dedication, with a special focus on rural health. Nominations are due Friday, September 14. Make a nomination online or by contacting Wendy Ray at wendyr@wsha.org or (206) 216-2516.
Community Health Leadership Award
Hospitals, health systems and public hospital districts are increasingly called upon to address the health needs of their entire community. The Community Health Leadership Award is given annually to a health care organization that is serving its community’s broader health needs in innovative and lasting ways. WSHA is looking to recognize organizations that are not just serving patients, but are making their entire communities healthier. Nominations are due Sunday, August 23. Make a nomination. (Tim Pfarr)
