Gov. Jay Inslee has proclaimed April 16, 2022, as Healthcare Decisions Day in Washington – a day to recognize the importance of advance care planning and encourage individuals to discuss and record choices about future health care decisions.
Honoring Choices Pacific Northwest, a joint initiative between WSHA and the Washington State Medical Association (WSMA) Foundation, continues to lead the region in robust advance care planning and end-of-life care resources for physicians, health care teams, patients and their loved ones. Inspiring conversations about the care people want if they are seriously ill or at the end of life, Honoring Choices PNW supports health care organizations in delivering patient-centered care. Honoring Choices PNW’s vision is that everyone will receive care that honors personal values and goals at the end of life.
Honoring Choices PNW partners with health care organizations throughout Washington state; many of which have local events to promote National Healthcare Decisions Day. For inspiration, visit Honoring Choices’ National Healthcare Decisions Day webpage.
