For the last two years, we at WSHA have been honored to serve as one of the select organizations across the country to contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a hospital improvement innovation network (HIIN). This federally funded contract has supported key quality and safety efforts, and we are delighted to announce that we recently received a six-month extension to continue this important work.
What is most exciting about the contract — and the work it has made possible with our hospitals and health systems — are the incredible outcomes achieved for our communities. However, until adverse events are eliminated, there is more to do. The contract extension will support additional, innovative work in:
- Preventable readmissions
- Health care disparities
- Person and family engagement
- Opioid and antibiotic stewardship
We look forward to continuing this work with our hospitals and health systems, and making our outcomes better than ever.
Sincerely,
Taya Briley
