Health Care Authority Updates Substance Abuse Disorder Billing Guide

The Health Care Authority recently updated its Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) Billing Guide to conform with federal requirements. Facilities classified as Institutions for Mental Disease (IMDs) with a CMS-approved IMD waivers must now bill for services provided to certain American Indian/Alaska native Medicaid clients, including clients not enrolled in Behavioral Health Organization services or Fully Integrated Managed Care.
