As the opioid crisis continues to claim lives in our country, please consider participating in National Prescription Take-Back Day, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency. Unused prescription medications can be dropped off at a designated collection site between 10am and 2pm April 28.
With 65 percent of abused prescription painkillers obtained from a friend or relative, getting these unused drugs out of medicine cabinets is truly a life-saving measure. Posters, brochures and digital resources are available to use for promotion, and we are counting on your partnership to spread the word in your community.
This national event is timely, as Washington State just passed the Secure Drug Take-Back Act, which is the nation’s first statewide take-back program supported by pharmaceutical companies. WSHA supported this act as is excited to work with stakeholders to support implementation.
