FDA announces strategy to provide antibiotic, antifungal drug updates

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on December 13 announced a strategy to provide critical updates regarding antibiotics and antifungal drugs to health care providers. The website will provide direct and timely access to information about when bacterial or fungal infections are likely to respond to a specific drug. The intent is that health care professionals can be more informed when prescribing, which benefits patients and helps to prevent the spread of resistant bacteria.
