The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) received funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to assist Washington hospitals in reporting antimicrobial use through the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Antimicrobial Use and Resistance module.
This summer, EvergreenHealth, Virginia Mason Medical Center and UW Medicine/Valley Medical Center were selected to receive funding to establish NHSN Antibiotic Use reporting capability. DOH will be offering another opportunity for funding later this year. There is more information to come soon. (Meg Kilcup)
