If your hospital is planning any activities for International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), we would like to be able to showcase your work in a future WSHA Weekly article. If you are interested in sharing your plans for IOAD, please contact Brittany Weiner, Assistant Director of Behavioral Health.
Aug. 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day a worldwide observance dedicated to remembering those who lost their lives due to overdose, promoting education to end overdose deaths, and honoring the grief of those who have lost a loved one. This year’s theme, “Recognizing those people who go unseen,” is intended to highlight those who have been impacted by overdose, including those in healthcare and first responders.
