The WSHA Journey to Diagnostic Excellence collaborative is kicking off with our first meeting on Jan. 25 from 3-4 pm. During this first session we will review the goals and planned work of the collaborative, go over our collaborative timeline and expectations, and begin our baseline survey of the current state of Diagnostic Excellence at your facility. If you were unable to attend one of our information sessions in December but still have interest in the collaborative, please join us for this first meeting!
Diagnostic errors include delayed, incorrect and missed diagnoses. According to the Improving Diagnosis in Health Care report, a diagnostic error will affect each of us in our lifetime. It is also estimated that diagnostic errors account for 40,000-80,000 deaths per year in U.S. hospitals.
