The Joint Commission’s stroke certification programs were developed in partnership with the American Heart Association/American Stroke association (AHA/ASA). The Joint Commission is revising the requirements for these programs to incorporate current clinical practice guideline recommendations published by the AHA/ASA. The revisions include some substantial updates, as well as editorial changes, clarifications and a harmonization of requirements across all four stroke certification programs. This field review provides an opportunity to review the substantial revisions and to provide feedback on them. The field review also includes a document for each program that contains all revisions. The comment period is open until April 14.
