Washington Hospital Services (WHS) offers pre-survey inspection services to help hospitals and clinics prepare for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Washington State Department of Health (DOH), DNV and Joint Commission surveys. Through trusted partnerships and collaboration with hospital members, WHS offers education, subject matter expertise and data support.
Pre-survey inspections are conducted in a “mock survey” format and are conducted by qualified staff and/or contractors to assess readiness in the following areas:
- Clinical quality
- Infection prevention
- Environment of care
Visits include:
- A pre-visit call to discuss your hospital’s/clinic’s particular needs
- Briefing of all leadership staff on the goals and objectives of the pre-survey inspection
- Inspection of your facility
- A post-inspection management staff debriefing on inspection findings, including recommended solutions for areas “at risk” for potential citations or findings
- A written summary (within one week of visit) from one of WHS’s inspection team members listing inspection findings and general comments
- A post-visit call with hospital/clinic leadership (30 days after visit) to address any additional questions or needs you might have
