Washington Discharge Dataset Sepsis Dashboard now available in DASH

May 4, 2023

WSHA is pleased to announce a new safety and quality dashboard, the Washington Discharge Dataset in our Data Analytics Service Hub (DASH) platform.  Sepsis is the body’s life-threatening reaction to infection.  Nearly 20,000 Washingtonians per year are hospitalized with sepsis or septic shock and it is the leading cause of death in hospitals in the US.

The first version of the dashboard examines the state-wide impact of sepsis, explores how Washington State and individual hospitals perform on a variety of sepsis measures and allows hospitals and health systems to identify groups to target for sepsis outcome improvement efforts. Future versions will take a deeper dive into transfers and the outcomes for transferred patients, ED visits prior to admission, and service line/provider data. If you would like to schedule an orientation to the dashboard or would like to view a recording of the launch webinar, please reach out to Rosemary Grant rosemaryg@wsha.org.

If you don’t have a DASH account, you can request one here.

Existing DASH content touching on sepsis is also available as part of the Quality Report and Sepsis CMS Benchmark Dashboard. (Rosemary Grant)
