The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) will host Certificate of Need listening sessions later this month to gather feedback about hospice and adult elective percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs). The hospice listening session will take place from 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, and the PCIs listening session will take place from 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. Register here for the hospice listening session, and register here for the PCI listening session.
The hospice listening session will seek feedback on:
- What is working well within the current hospice rules?
- What challenges are you currently experiencing with existing hospice rules?
- What specific changes to the current hospice rules would you like the department to consider?
- Health equity is a priority for the department. What ideas would you propose to make hospice rules more equitable?
The PCI listening session will seek feedback on:
- What is working well within the current PCI rules?
- What challenges are you currently experiencing with existing PCI rules?
- What specific changes to the current PCI rules would you like the department to consider?
- Health equity is a priority for the department. What ideas would you propose to make PCI rules more equitable?
The goals of the department for these and other CN rule projects are to update the rules to more align with the current public health landscape, provide more equitable processes and rules wherever possible and simplify the CN rules as much as possible, making the CN process less complex for providers seeking to enter the health care system with Washington.
These listening sessions are not intended to debate current rule language but to help the department understand where to focus changes in rules and help prioritize resources for future rulemaking workshops. (Tim Pfarr)
