WSHA, in partnership with AWPHD, offers a Governance & Executive Education program to increase knowledge and understanding of hospital governance in Washington State, and assist executive and board leadership in assessing and enhancing board effectiveness. Members who participate in these learning opportunities can earn credit hours toward their Health Care Governance certification.
There are still many opportunities to participate in the 2022 curriculum, which was developed using member feedback on important focus areas for hospital leadership.
On Wednesday, July 20, WSHA Chief Finance Officer Eric Lewis and WSHA Financial Policy Director Andrew Busz will present ‘Insurance Market Basics for Hospital Boards’ from 12 – 1 p.m. This webinar will cover major costs driving health care, the three main sources of payment for hospitals (Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance), the impact and challenges of payor mix on hospitals, and WSHA’s advocacy to protect hospitals and ensure sustainable payment. Registration is available through the Learning Management System (LMS).
Program webinars will continue through 2022, on topics including ‘The Board’s Role in Credentialing & Privileging,’ ‘Communication Strategies for Effective Decision-Making Across Diverse Perspectives & Experience’ and more.
